The Grand Opening of the International Public Relations Festival draws PR Professionals from India and Abroad

The highly anticipated grand opening of the Public Relations Society of India’s International Public Relations Festival took place in Delhi, India. The festival was inaugurated by esteemed Chief Guest H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji from Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, along with Rajya Sabha Member Shri Shri Sudhanshu Trivedi, Shri Naresh Bansal, & Vice Chancellor of AAFT University, and Director of Marwah Studio Dr Sandeep Marwah.

The three-day festival at the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar International Convention Centre, Janpath, New Delhi, kicked off with a mesmerizing public relations song and a symbolic lamp lighting. The esteemed guests and members of the PRSI on the stage participated in the lamp-lighting ceremony, illuminating the entire hall. Additionally, special reverence was paid to Mother Saraswati.

During the opening ceremony, the guests were honoured and felicitated. National Vice President (North) Narendra Mehta ji welcomed Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji with clothing and gifts, while National Vice President (East) MS Majumdar felicitated Guest of honour Naresh Bansal, MP, Rajya Sabha. Dr Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor AAFT University and Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, New Delhi, were also honoured. National President Dr Ajit Pathak presented mementoes to the revered guests.

Dr PLK Murthy, PRSI General Secretary, in his welcome address, highlighted the illustrious history of PRSI, emphasizing the organization’s continuous progress over the years. The festival focuses on vital topics, including G-20 celebration, cultural and spiritual strength, sustainable development, and public relations research.

Speaking on the importance of adhering to the Global Ethics Protocol, National Vice President (North) Narendra Mehta emphasized the significance of working with policies to propel organizations forward. PR professionals constantly strive for progress while keeping ethical protocols in mind.

Two esteemed individuals in the field of public relations, Anne Grete Iturriaga Abajua, President of the International Public Relations Association, London, and Richard Linning, President of the Institute for Innovation and Change Management, Switzerland, shared their valuable insights through video messages in the event.

Dr Ajit Pathak, National President of PRSI, expressed gratitude for the presence of revered Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji and highlighted the fortune of having the Ganga river flowing in Delhi, symbolizing the presence of divinity. Dr Pathak also mentioned that PRSI chapters celebrate Public Relations Day every year on April 21, and this international festival is dedicated to the theme of G-20.

Congratulating PRSI for organizing the International Festival, Dr Sandeep Marwah, Director of Marwah Studio, appreciated the commendable work undertaken by PRSI in the field of public relations.

Rajya Sabha MP Shri Naresh Bansal expressed his admiration for India’s culture of prompt, selfless help to other countries, including their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and the inclusion of deprived African communities in the G-20 conference. He extended his best wishes to all PR professionals, hoping that public relations will continue to play a pivotal role in India’s development.

Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi categorized public relations into three parts: Professional Relationship, Emotional Relationship, and Devotional Relationship. He emphasized the strength of the devotional relationship, citing its ability to instil a sense of complete sacrifice. Trivedi also stressed the importance of language in strengthening public relations.

Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji, in his address, called for unity and progress based on India’s rich culture and values, aiming for the country to reach the highest position globally.

The festival’s first day concluded with Sheetal Sharma announcing and distributing 84 awards in 18 categories. Anshu Mahajan, Delhi Chapter Chairperson, thanked all the guests and PR professionals for their presence.
