PRSI Guwahati Chapter organizes Talk Show on Sanatan Values and Emerging India: Role of PR at Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Viswa Vidyalaya, Rupnagar

Guwahati, April 21, 2024 – In celebration of National PR Day, the Guwahati Chapter of Public Relations Society of India in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Viswa Vidyalaya, Rupnagar, organized a thought-provoking event centered around the theme “Sanatan Values and Emerging India: Role of Public Relations.” Held on April 21st at the Rupnagar center, the event aimed to explore the intersection of traditional Indian values with the contemporary practice of Public Relations (PR) and its impact on the nation’s development.

The event was spearheaded by the Chapter Chairperson of the new committee, Ms. Ruma Chakraborty along with Vice Chairman Mr. Surojit Sinha Roy, Secretary Dr. Bimal Krishna Sarma, Jt. Secretary Ms Jumita Saikia and Treasurer Mr. Anjan K. Borthakur.

The event featured distinguished guest speakers, Senior Rajyoga Teacher and Incharge of Brahma Kumaris Noonmati Centre, BK Maushumi, and the Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Asian Institute of Management & Technology, Mrs. Rose Mahanta.

Mrs. Rose Mahanta delivered a compelling address on the importance of PR ethics and emphasized the crucial role of Sanatan values in shaping ethical and truthful PR practitioners. Her insights shed light on the significance of integrity, honesty, and transparency in PR practices, aligning with the timeless values deeply rooted in Sanatan Dharma.

BK Maushumi, in her speech, elaborated on the essence of Sanatan values and the value system they offer to individuals and society through Raj Yoga practices. She elucidated how these values can serve as a guiding light in navigating the complexities of modern PR practices. BK Maushumi’s session provided attendees with a deeper understanding of how incorporating Sanatan values can contribute to fostering harmony, respect, and authenticity in PR endeavors.
The event concluded with a brief meditation session led by BK Maushumi, allowing participants to introspect and internalize the discussed principles.

Reflecting on the event, Ms. Ruma Chakraborty, Chairperson of PRSI Guwahati Chapter, expressed her gratitude to the guest speakers and attendees for their active participation in promoting meaningful discussions around the convergence of Sanatan values and contemporary PR practices.
